Do you Google yourself?

It’s not a new trend. We all know it, don’t we?

But how often do you indulge in this vain act? When I started, it was like anything between 2-3 times a week. Now it’s a more respectable once a week (don’t forget vain scrambled is my name).

Don’t be shy, tell me, how often do you google?

And what’s the first search return?

For me, it’s Twitter first and Linkedin next.

I check my Blog stats often, and also check ‘who’s amung us’ to see how many readers are on my blog, but I hardly ever google myself πŸ™‚

Did it just now -the first thing it showed, my Blogspot blog πŸ™‚

I just googled myself – never done it before, so that’s a first! πŸ™‚ So the first thing that pops up is my food blog! I’m not doing much else that’s noteworthy, I suppose!

I’m thinking this googling of oneself would be far more rewarding if one was a working journalist – especially a reporter, because of getting published with bylines, and receiving feedback and perhaps getting mentioned in other papers/magazines etc πŸ™‚

I have done it once before and did it again and I am amazed at the number of Sindhu Nair’s in the world…
I typed Doha to the name and found Linkedin and then some articles in Zawya…

It is not always a vain act, Vani. Some of us have to google ourselves to check what new abuses have been heaped, thanks to our areas of work! New technologies have emerged as an ideal tool for abuse 😦
