tickle, grope, rape… start to finish

I was talking to a friend today… and thought this thing I wrote nearly 8 years ago for Chennaionline (linked), is worth a read again…

If the child’s instinct advises against a hug or a kiss, it has to be respected. Even if the child is just a year old. Maybe we need to teach our kids to ‘distrust’. We need to teach them the value of personal and physical space. We need to teach them to confront. And before we teach, we need to learn to trust their instincts and believe them. We need to make better use of our faculties and senses. We need to protect.

Hi, the link seems to have some issue – I suppose the archives on chennaionline were not responding. Could you perhaps post the entire article here, if it ain’t much of a bother?

PS: Just discovered your blog (reco from a very dear friend) – loving it thus far. Esp the anniversary post *sigh* most of us are on similar boats and rocking (literally).
