- For all those who said he disrespected ‘Mother’ India! This is just one of the many paintings that proves otherwise. All part of his personal collection, that he carried with him from home to home, country to country. The paintings were of Hindu mythology and what he called the ‘composite’ Indian culture. The Life of Umm 
It does not surprise me. His spirit was very Indian, but his nature was like “Puck” a character from Shakespeare’s plays. He loved to push boundaries and the bigots got a chance to take cheap shots at him
you know, i don’t even think he was consciously pushing boundaries. he was just doing whatever came to his artistic mind. he doesn’t seem like someone who planned for reaction!
